Professor Thomas Dietrich

Thomas Dietrich is Head of the Department of Oral Surgery in the School of Dentistry in the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Clinical Sciences.

Professor Dietrich’s research is focused on clinical outcomes in dentoalveolar surgery and implantology, in particular in methods to reduce morbidity after lower third molar surgery.

Links between oral disease/interventions (in particular in periodontology and oral surgery) and systemic conditions such as cardiovascular disease and rheumatoid arthritis are also a focus of his studies.
