Bio

As the Head of the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre, Victoria leads the core team and has overall responsibility for strategic development and operational management of the BRC. Victoria has an additional role within UHB as Freedom to Speak Up Champion and alongside Byron Batten co-led the Race Equality Framework (REF) pilot project for NIHR within Birmingham. She is a member of the UHB senior leadership team.

Victoria has worked in research management since 2008 across University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Birmingham, focusing on funding development and policy for patient-centered research. This has provided her with wide-ranging experience at strategic and senior level.
Victoria has a PhD in Stem Cell Biology, and her postdoctoral work examined Mesenchymal Stromal Cell (MSC) trafficking predominantly in liver disease states.
