NIHR Identity Guidelines

Please discontinue using the outdated NIHR logo and colour bar. Please familiarise yourself with the new branding guidelines.

In February 2019, the NIHR had a branding refresh. The NIHR now have a new logo, and for the first time, you can now display it alongside your NHS logo!

It is important to note that the NIHR have also developed sub-logos. Sub-logos are special logos which have the NIHR acronym, but rather than displaying “National Institute of Health research” next to it, it will display the name of the specific NIHR Organisation.

For our Birmingham BRC, the sub-logo displays the NIHR Acronym, with “Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre” next to it. An example of this can be seen at the top of this website. These sub-logos should be used in preference to the generic NIHR logo.

It is mandatory for all existing digital logos to be updated by May 2019. All existing print material will need to be updated by 1 January 2020.

The NIHR have also provided brand elements – these are fonts, design motifs and stock photographs which you can use in your material.
