Symposium on Mechanisms of Inflammation

A one day conference focused on inflammation across areas of human diseases and infection, organized by the Wellcome Trust-funded student cohort in “Mechanisms of Inflammatory Disease” (MIDAS). Hosted at the newly opened Edgbaston Park Hotel on the site of the University of Birmingham, this event will showcase a wide variety of speakers from different areas of inflammation research.
Michael Hickey, Monash University: “Imaging leukocytes in inflammatory settings”
Margaret Harnett, University of Glasgow: “Pathogen evasion of immune signalling mechanisms in inflammatory disease”
Jo Spencer, Kings College London: “Intestinal immunity in inflammatory settings”
Adriano Rossi, University of Edinburgh: “Mechanisms of inflammatory cell behaviour and apoptosis”
There will also be a presentation by a Wellcome Trust representative on available funding schemes at Wellcome for early career researchers. Two further presentation slots are available for additional speakers (both internal or external) to present their work, alongside a poster session with prizes. If you would like to present, please submit your abstracts (maximum of 300 words) and indicate your preference for a talk or a poster.
