Training the next cadre of outstanding translational scientists, clinicians, nurses and other professionals allied to medicine

Training the next cadre of outstanding translational scientists, clinicians, nurses and other professionals allied to medicine in the design and delivery of early phase trials in inflammation is an over-arching priority for the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research. In keeping with our scientific strategy, training will emphasis the importance of common biological inflammatory pathways rather than disease specific pathways. Thus, research staff and trainees from a range of disciplines and backgrounds will share training in the principles and delivery of early translational medicine in relation to chronic inflammation.

Our track record of training has been exemplary. Training is delivered by integration of the resources offered through the NIHR infrastructure in Birmingham, including the NIHR/Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility (CRF), West Midlands CLAHRC , and the Birmingham Health Partners, which provides an outstanding research-training environment.
